I dont have the answer to your question regarding production, but there can be all sorts of reasons that have nothing to do with actual demand. Especially in the USA and especially with the past two federal admins.
But one thing is for sure. If a Trump admin is not interested in wasting money propping up something that otherwise never would have entered the market to begin with, then you can expect to see E85 go the way of the laserdisc home videos. ....I'm not saying it has no merits, just not to the typical consumer. Given the rapid developmental pace and actually beneficial merits of current hybrid car tech, I think E85 as a widely available consumer-grade fuel is done for and will simply exist in very rare instances in boutique markets much like the occasional gas station that sells 100+ octane.
So enjoy it while you can, but make sure your Z can still run on 93 octane
